Xi'an Great Mosque

Islam was introduced to China by Arab merchants. The Muslims intermarried with the Han people. Xi'an Great Mosque was built in 742 during the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

The mosque covers an area of 6000 square meters and is divided into four courtyards. There is a wooden arch in the first courtyard. The prayer hall, which is in the fourth courtyard, can accommodate more than a thousand people. The architecture is a mixed between traditional Muslim and Chinese styles.
