Langkawi Island: Mangrove Cruise

Day 3. It has been a loooong while since I did anything remotely adventurous, so I really looked forward to the mangrove cruise. The reviews for the tour operator, Jungle Walla, were mostly good and I booked the cruise online. Jungle Walla offers several eco tours, so if you're a nature lover, be sure to at least take one of their tours. The mangrove cruise began at the Tanjung Rhu jetty.

The guide, a guy named Wan, was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out the wild lives at the mangrove. He also explained the mangrove ecology. I'm going to just share the photos and let them tell the stories.

I was told this is the one and only gorilla in Langkawi.

The kite eagles are beautiful. Alas, my camera couldn't capture it.

The long tail monkeys eat crabs. They're good swimmers and divers.

Viper. Yikes!

Crocodile Cave. No, not one crocodile there. The cave was named after a rock formation that looks like a crocodile.

There are several boats docked here because the rental is much cheaper than at the marina.

The cruise took about 2.5 hours. I was almost 3 p.m. when I got back to the hotel and I was starving! I headed to the Lagenda Restaurant for lunch and ordered chicken rice. That was the worst chicken rice I ever had. What was the chef thinking?

After lunch, I headed back to my room, showered and rested a bit before going to the spa.
