Taman Botani, Putrajaya

Taman Botani (Botany Park) in Putrajaya is one of my favourite roaming places. I usually go there in the morning and take a long walk along the lake. The tranquility is very calming and it helps to melt away the week's stress.

Want to burn some calories? Walk up the Sigai Seri stairs. If you haven't been exercising for a while, this will leave you slightly out of breath, which is good, because that means you've burned some unwanted body fats ;-). From up the little hill, you can get a better view of the lake and the surrounding area. Sometimes, I bring a book and sit here, reading for a little while. Or just gaze into the tranquility of the water.

As you walk up the Sigai Seri stairs, you'll notice this 'tunnel' on your left. The view is spectacular when flowers are blooking. Walking through this tunnel is a must-do for me. It makes me feel like I've been transported to a magical world (there's a little girl in me who refuses to grow up!).

Flowers are not blooming, otherwise, it's a spectacular view. One of my favorite spots.

For some mysterious reasons, each time I dropped by at the sundial, the weather was cloudy. So I was unable to figure out how this sundial thing actually works.

Isn't that lovely?

Here's what I don't understand about Taman Botani. In one part of the park is Astaka Morocco (Morocco Pavillion). Why they decided to have something Moroccan in the middle of Putrajaya is beyond my understanding (no, I don't have anything against Morocco or Moroccans). I heard that Moroccan artists were actually brought here to help design and build it. It is beautiful. Almost breathtaking. I love the little pool.

If you're in Putrajaya and you love nature, then you must visit Taman Botani. You'll fall in love with this park.
