Steel Mosque, Putrajaya

The official name for this mosque is Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, but the locals nicknamed it Masjid Besi (Steel Mosque).

I wouldn't be surprised if people had fallen into the pool before the sign was placed there. You wouldn't notice it at first glance.

Here's what's refreshing about the Steel Mosque. Unlike most mosques where there is a physical separation between the male and femal sections, there is none here (as it should be). There is a small room at the back of the prayer hall for ladies who need to change before or after prayer.

Therea are study areas on the first floor of the mosque, which people can use to conduct lectures or classes. You need to apply for permission to use them, of course.

Between the Steel Mosque and Putra Mosque, I think Putra Mosque is more beautiful. Nevertheless, Steel Mosque has a unique architecture and the open space design gives a calming, relaxing feeling.
